MINNEAPOLIS, MN – VitalHealth Software, a leading global provider of web-based solutions for collaborative health management established by Mayo Clinic and the Noaber Foundation, today announced that Greenwood, South Carolina-based Self Regional Healthcare has selected VitalHealth QuestLink® for the implementation of the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM) Standard Set for Low Back Pain.
VitalHealth worked closely with ICHOM to verify that QuestLink supports the ICHOM Standard Sets for a range of clinical conditions in which patient-reported outcome measures contribute to identifying and disseminating best care practices worldwide.
“Self Regional is committed to offering advanced care with leading-edge technology," said Sumeer Lal, M.D., Medical Director of the SC Spine Center of Self Regional Healthcare. “ICHOM’s Standard Set for Low Back Pain gives us an internationally agreed upon framework for measuring the most meaningful outcomes of treatment for patients suffering from low back pain. VitalHealth QuestLink enables us to quickly deploy the questionnaires recommended by ICHOM’s expert Working Group and automate the process of collecting, measuring and reporting patient outcomes, so that we can focus on the results that matter most to our patients.”
The initial implementation of QuestLink at Self Regional will include a select set of providers, with a target go-live date before the end of the first quarter of 2015. In the future, Self Regional may consider expanding the collection of patient-reported outcomes questionnaires to include additional medical conditions and specialties, as well as use QuestLink to connect to the National Neurosurgical Quality and Outcomes Database (N2QOD).
“VitalHealth is pleased to be able to work with Self Regional Healthcare,” said Les Wold, M.D., VitalHealth’s Chief Medical Officer. “Their commitment to using patient-reported outcomes for improving quality of care is in perfect alignment with the capabilities of QuestLink. We look forward working with them on implementing the ICHOM Standard Set for Low Back Pain, as well as other PROMs questionnaires in the future.”
“The implementation of ICHOM allows us to better compare and contrast our patient population to national and international standards,” Dr. Lal said. “This allows us to continue our continuous mission of improving quality.”
