The Dutch NIPED organization aims to increase the awareness of prevention and early detection of chronic diseases. To that effect, NIPED created an online healthcare portal called "Prevention Compass" that allows participants to monitor their own health. Together with Medecs, Software Studio Hoorn, and VitalHealth Software, a modern new version of the PreventionCompass was developed.

Participants in Prevention Compass can easily monitor their personal health status, by providing input to questionnaires concerning lifestyle, physical and psychological aspects as well as family history. If necessary, several physical measurements can be taken, or the participant is asked to visit a collection center to provide blood and urine samples.

Personalized health plan
Based on the input provided, Prevention Compass uses scientific guidelines to create a personalized health plan with goals and advice on how to reach those goals, where appropriate involving the help of third party health coaches. The plan incorporates personal characteristics and motivation, to ensure a most optimal fit. Participants can then choose to act on the plan and report and monitor progress in Prevention Compass. Profiles are typically re-assessed on a yearly basis, allowing participants to compare health plans with prior years and identify improvements.

VitalHealth Solution
With its powerful VitalHealth Platform, VitalHealth Software created a solution for the administrative and logistic processes in Prevention Compass, such as project administration, participant registration, order administration and payments, as well as the end user / participant portal. This portal supports the entire participant process flow. After registering a new participant along with their preferences, the portal guides the participant through questionnaires. The questionnaire results are calculated and presented to the participant, based on which they can decide to purchase subsequent products and services. The portal processes registered orders along with payment, and monitors the shipment of orders.
