VitalHealth nominated for Innovator of the Year
VitalHealth nominated for Microsoft Innovator of the Year

Almere (NL), July 6, 2010 - During the Microsoft Health Partner Awards ceremony on July 6th in Almere (NL), VitalHealth Software was nominated for the Health Innovator of the Year Award, together with BMA and Chipsoft. Microsoft Netherlands' Manager Health José Strijbos voiced her appreciation for VitalHealth's initiatives in the mental health sector.

Reasons for nomination
José Strijbos indicated that Vitalhealth's nomination was partly based on the joint project between VitalHealth and Accenture to create an electronic medical record for the mental health sector. The Geriant Institute went through a rigorous selection process before choosing this initiative. Another contributing factor was the fact that GGz Westelijk Noord Brabant together with the Trimbos Institute and the Julius Center started an innovative 'Vital for Schizophrenia' project with VitalHealth. Patients are given several options for self-management, such as EMR access, e-Consult and online appointment booking. For the fiscal year 2011, Microsoft is confident that the partnership with VitalHealth will continue to grow and be successful.
Health 2.0 developments
José outlined the emerging Health 2.0 developments and expressed praise for the manner in which partners embrace these developments: "The health care landscape is changing rapidly for both the patient and the provider. It is remarkable to see that every year, many new partners successfully enter this market, while existing partners continue to deliver new innovations. The strong drive that characterizes these partners bring actual change towards patient-centered health care within reach".
