VitalHealth Disease Management solutions now using Single Sign-On
Together with IDN system vendor Portavita and EHR vendors PharmaPartners and Promedico ICT, VitalHealth has added single sign-on capabilities to its suite of IDN based VitalHealth Disease Management solutions.
Single sign-on enables users of EHR and IDN systems to seamlessly move from EHR to IDN software. Users log in to the EHR systems as usual, giving them seamless access to the relevant medical record(s) in the IDN software. This avoids the need for physicians to log in repeatedly into multiple systems.
Single sign-on is a first step in a project that leads towards a Dutch EHR-IDN communication standard, with unified exchange of information between the systems based on open integration standards and standardized message formats. The overall goal of the new communication standard is to increase usability of these systems for care providers, and to avoid potential discrepancies in data between systems.
The single-sign on functionality has been implemented at the Healthcare Center Dillenburg in Alphen aan de Rijn (NL) and the physician practice of Roelof Welling. At an earlier stage in the EHR-IDN project, an integration was realized between multiple IDNs and EHRs based on the Dutch OZIS communication standard.
