Stategic partnership NISB and VitalHealth
NISB selects VitalHealth as IT-partner for rollout of exercise program in primary care
June 15, 2010. Remco Boer, program manager of the Netherlands Institute for Sport & Physical Activity, and Laurens van der Tang, CEO of VitalHealth Software, have signed a strategic partnership. VitalHealth and NISB will develop a software application that supports primary care professionals working with NISB’s “BeweegKuur” exercise program.
BeweegKuur; a project by the Ministry of Public Health, Welfare and Sport
The Netherlands Institute for Sport and Physical Activity has been appointed by the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport to drive the development of an exercise program called “BeweegKuur”. This program is specifically designed for people suffering from obesity in combination with other risk factors, such as diabetes type 2. Patients are coached towards a more active and healthy lifestyle, based on weight management and the promotion of a healthy diet. This is done from primary care settings, through the cooperation between physician, lifestyle coach, physiotherapist and dietitian. The political goal is to include the BeweegKuur program in the minimum base package of health insurance per Dutch law. For NISB, VitalHealth is a strategic partner that can facilitate the multi-disciplinary cooperation between primary care providers through IT.
Arguments for choosing VitalHealth
An automated information system contributes to a more professional care process, and provides NISB with the ability to connect all participants in the BeweegKuur care network, including the patient. The to-be-developed application will simplify and streamline the administrative process for all care providers. The features and benefits include:
