MS Center Amsterdam and VitalHealth develop MS Portal for patients and providers
VU Medical Center contracts Vitalhealth for continued development of MS Portal
In December of 2010, the VUmc MS Center Amsterdam selected VitalHealth Software for the development of the “MS Supportaal”, an initiative for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Patients and their care providers. The web based MS portal enables online communication between patients and specialists of the MS Center in Amsterdam, as well as affiliated care providers. The ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life for MS patients by improving the quality of care.
“The expertise of the VUmc MS Center Amsterdam is frequently applied to the treatment of MS patients

- Role based access to relevant MS data to both patients as well as care providers. The entire disease and treatment history can be viewed from a single graphical overview.
- The possibility for patients to report and monitor disease related events.
- Secure online communication between patient and care provider, neurologist and specialized nurses (secondary and tertiary care).
- Supports online consultation and referrals between neurologists, and from secondary care to the MS Center in Amsterdam.
- Access to relevant research and educational material for both patients and care providers.
The VUmc MS Center Amsterdam has developed a global leading center for Multiple Sclerosis care. The center expects that this new initiative will further enable its ability to provide top clinical care and knowledge.
